| 1. | The hip-to-gable roof alteration, by reason of its bulk and exacerbated by failure to use matching roof materials, viewed cumulatively with the front dormer and gable, gives rise to a visually heavy roof to one half of this semi-detached pair, which is out of character with the original property and its neighbouring pair, gives rise to a negative effect on the street scene by creating a loss of symmetry and is out of keeping with the predominant character of hipped roof slopes to semi-detached bungalows along Masefield Drive, which is contrary to the purposes and intent of Local Plan Policies 7, 26 and the Residential Extensions and Alterations Supplementary Planning Document. |
