| 1. | Group G3 - Mature Limes on left hand flank of Kingswood 63 Main Road, these are mature Lime trees that have uniform canopy, showing good healthy leaf colour and vigour, and should NOT be felled. |
| 2. | The purpose of a TPO is to protect trees which bring significant amenity benefit to the local area whilst maintaining the tree canopy and tree scape of the Gidea Park Conservation Area, it is felt that the proposal to fell the Lime trees of group G3 of TPO 5/89 will be detrimental to this with a significant loss of tree canopy. |
| 3. | It is recommended that these trees that are the subject to this application and are identified as being on the plan and schedule of TPO order 5/98.
Group G3 - Mature Limes on left hand flank of Kingswood 63 Main Road, these are mature Lime trees that have uniform canopy, showing good healthy leaf colour and vigour, can be crown reduced by up to 1.5m to previous pollard points.
Group G4 - 3 Holly trees on right hand side of entrance, the basal growth of these trees has being faced up to form a hedge up to 3m and the 3 stems have not being reduced and are now encroaching in to the crown of the Robinia of Catiline Court,63a Main Road. These Hollies can be reduced to 4m.
Group G1 - 2 self set Sycamores and dead Elm, rear lawn of Kingswood 63 Main Road may be felled. |
| 4. | Privet hedge to front curtilage between entrance and exit is healthy and can be trimmed to maintain its original shape as works in a Conservation Area and is covered by TPO 5/89. |
| 5. | The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out to the standards detailed in British Standard Document BS 3998:2010.
Reason:
To ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with good arboricultural practice. |
| 6. | The work for which consent is granted, for the Limes and Hollies shall be carried out as an overall reduction, so that the tree's crown remains balanced.
Reason:
To ensure that the tree's stability is maintained and in the interests of public amenity. |
| 7. | The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out within 2 years from the date of this consent.
Reason:
To prevent the accumulation of consents. |
| 8. | The applicant is advised that if you wish to carry out further works to the above trees you will need to obtain our further consent. |
| 9. | Anyone who takes, damages or destroys the nest of any wild bird whilst that nest is in use or being built is guilty of an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and prior to commencing work you should ensure that no nesting birds will be affected. |
| 10. | Please note that if the work for which consent is granted is not carried out within 2 years of the date of this letter, it will be necessary to submit a fresh application if it is intended to implement the work. |
