| 1. | The two Lawsons Cypress trees that are subject of this application are identified as being T1 and T2 on the plan of Havering's TPO 1/73.
T2, stands to the left hand side to the front curtilage of 36 Nelmes Way, |
| 2. | T2, this tree should be retained as it is a healthy specimen and is part of the tree canopy in Nelmes Way. |
| 3. | T1, stands 4m from the front right hand side of the property, this tree is a poor specimen and has rot on the flank of its base towards the property, this is where a large branch has been previously been removed leaving large areas of heartwood exposed.
T2 this tree can have its canopy raised by 4m to facilitate new proposed driveway. |
| 4. | It is recommended that the semi-mature Lawsons Cypress that stands to the front of this tree on the curtilage should be retained to maintain the tree canopy in the area and balance the tree T2 that is to be retained. |
| 5. | The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out to the standards detailed in British Standard Document BS 3998:2010.
Reason:
To ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with good arboricultural practice. |
| 6. | The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out within 2 years from the date of this consent.
Reason:
To prevent the accumulation of consents. |
| 7. | The applicant is advised that if you wish to carry out further works to the above trees you will need to obtain our further consent. |
| 8. | Please note that if the work for which consent is granted is not carried out within 2 years of the date of this letter, it will be necessary to submit a fresh application if it is intended to implement the work. |
| 9. | You should comply with British Standard No. 3998 'Recommendations for Tree Work' a copy of which can be inspected at this office. You are advised that the work should be undertaken by a competent and suitably qualified tree contractor. |
| 10. | It is suggested that you engage the services of a qualified and fully insured tree surgeon to carry out the above work on your behalf (you should ask to see the contractor's insurance certificate and make sure that it is up to date). |
