1.Large Sycamore tree at end of garden to be removed.
2.A TPO's are designed to protect trees which bring significant amenity benefit to the local area. This protection is particularly important where trees are under threat, and removal is not a preferred option as a resolution.
3.It is recommended that this Sycamore tree that is the subject of this application, which stands to the rear of 17 Westland Avenue. It is identified as being specified by area A1 on the plan of Havering's TPO 25/90, can be crown reduced by up to 2m from the tip to an inter-nodal branch break to leave the tree balanced, crown lifted up to 4m and the overhang to 17 Westland Avenue reduced by up to 2m.
4.The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out to the standards detailed in British Standard Document BS 3998:2010. Reason: To ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with good arboricultural practice.
5.The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out as an overall reduction, so that the tree's crown remains balanced. Reason: To ensure that the tree's stability is maintained and in the interests of public amenity.
6.The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out within 2 years from the date of this consent. Reason: To prevent the accumulation of consents.
7.It is suggested that you engage the services of a qualified and fully insured tree surgeon to carry out the above work on your behalf (you should ask to see the contractor's insurance certificate and make sure that it is up to date).
