1.It is recommended that following site visit to 'The Orchard', Hacton Lane, that the two Hawthorn's adjacent to the right hand gate column can be removed, and the Indian Bean Tree can be overall crown reduced by 1m including the overhang to 161a Hacton Lane. The Sycamore to the rear of the garage can be overall crown reduced by up to 3m from the growth tip to an inter-nodal branch break, and crown thinned by 10% and crown lifted maximum of 5m. The conifer to the rear left hand side adjacent to the property can be removed as this is a poor specimen. Beech tree to rear left hand lawn can be crown reduced by up to 1.5m and crown thinned by 10%. On right hand boundary there is a group of conifers that can be overall crown reduced by up 40% and shaped. In far right hand corner of the garden there is a small malus that can be felled as it misshapen and has poor growth with an uneven crown because of shading from the Indian Bean Tree this tree can be overall crown reduced by 1m from the tip to an inter-nodal branch break to leave the tree balanced. Conifer hedging to rear of 161a Hacton Lane to be overall crown Reduced by 40% and removal of one conifer windblown towards fence.
2.The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out to the standards detailed in British Standard Document BS 3998:2010. Reason: To ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with good arboricultural practice.
3.The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out within 2 years from the date of this consent. Reason: To prevent the accumulation of consents.
4.The work for which consent is granted shall be carried out as an overall reduction, so that the tree's crown remains balanced. Reason: To ensure that the tree's stability is maintained and in the interests of public amenity.
5.It is suggested that you engage the services of a qualified and fully insured tree surgeon to carry out the above work on your behalf (you should ask to see the contractor's insurance certificate and make sure that it is up to date).
6.Having considered the particular circumstances of the case, and the position of the trees for which consent to fell has been granted the Council has decided that it will not be necessary to replace the trees.
7.The applicant is advised that if you wish to carry out further works to the above trees you will need to obtain our further consent.
8.Please note that if the work for which consent is granted is not carried out within 2 years of the date of this letter, it will be necessary to submit a fresh application if it is intended to implement the work.
