| Proposal | There are 3 trees at the front right hand boundary of my property looking from the house to the road. They are sited near the pavement. The first is a Sycamore tree. The other two are both Ash trees.
Unfortunately the Sycamore tree at the edge of the property has died and as a result I have given a notification of intention to fell as the tree represents a potential danger to the public. It is not proposed to replant a tree to replace the Sycamore because of the restrictions of the site. It is also unlikely that a new tree could regrow given the size of the two Ash trees next to it.
I am seeking permission to reduce the canopy of the Ash trees as they are growing close to both my own and my neighbours house. The reduction requested is between 1 & 2 metres. The reasons for the request is as follows:
a) My neighbour is regularly contacting me concerning the trees because there are branches of the Ash tree overhanging 41 Suttons Lane causing a reduction in light to the front of the house and nuisance due to bird droppings on her car and a distortion to her drive. One particular branch is also now quite close to her property and I am concerned that the roots will be spreading towards the house foundations as well.
b) The tree canopy is overhanging the road and I am concerned about branches falling onto the pavement or road causing damage to either pedestrians or vehicles so I would like the canopy reduced away from the road if possible.
c) The Ash tree closest to 43 Suttons Lane now has a sizeable branch very near to the property and I am concerned about the roots spreading to the house foundations.
d) There is a large branch growing across the property frontage and I am concerned about the weight of the branch and want to reduce its length and weight.
Reducing the canopy by 1-2 metres will reduce the weight of the branches and those causing a nuisance will be reduced in size to prevent future problems. Care will be taken to reshape the tree as part of the work so that is remains balanced. |
